The Box of Dreams
Dreams. Plural. We alway love bentos and sets, which comes with small dishes for us to get the chance of trying everything. I'd argue that that it is about the appealing collectivism of ordering in a Chinese restaurant: eight people, nine dishes, and everybody gets to eat every dish. We don't just order one entree and put in front of our dish. We contribute when we order, but I don't have to take 100% responsibility of finishing the sole thing I ordered.Well, I digressed, I am in a Japanese restaurant. I am here because my peers told me that it is something new. I asked this lady friend of mine: do you two share one or...?"No. We got two boxes."
Fast forward to actual eating & time to see how it looks like:
And yes, I did take the picture off-center, on purpose (your responsibility to help me come up with a rationale). Personally, The one with the shrimp and eggs caught me the most, as well as my long-time favorite, the salmon sashimi. OK...I lied, I like ALL of the nine. They are pretty enough standing alone, but they are beautiful inside and outside the box altogether (you see how the shrimp goes OUTSIDE of the box right?).
Next time, let me share this box of dreams with you.Or not? You could use a whole box of 'em.
